I recently was asked to make some Thanksgiving centerpieces for a corporate meeting. It was to be a holiday meeting combining Thanksgiving and Christmas-but not too much of either one. They wanted them inexpensive, non-traditional and creative.
Oh yeah...and the theme was plaid. No typical Thanksgiving ideas...No cornucopias, no pumpkins, gourds or indian corn.
Not your average holiday request but I love a challenge!
We found a variety of plaid and flannel pieces-some really great twigs and sticks from the back yard.
We then put together 72 of these little pom poms. I love the white and cream together! I know that you can make these by hand-here's a great tutorial-but I got this nifty little pom pom maker for about $3 and it made this a very easy task.
I'll admit, this is not your Grandma's Thanksgiving table.
In fact, there's a feel of Dr. Seuss, or maybe a Charlie Brown special comes to mind...but, they grow on you! These pom poms add a whimsical feel to your table centerpieces and are a super easy crafts to do with kids!
