Today is "Body Spray" Day! I love fresh scents, I thrive on homemade skin care, and I've always wanted to know how to make perfume...but overly perfumed spray makes me wheezey. So, I'm going to use various essential oils recipes for my aromatherapy sprays.
Using essential oils gives me the opportunity to create various moods and enjoy the added benefits that they provide.
Here are just a few ideas to get you started or you can mix a variety of oils, creating your own signature scent and desired effect.
Citrus such as Lemon or Orange Essential Oils are mood enhancers
Lavender aids in relaxation
Geranium is peaceful and romantic
Rose & Ylang Ylang have been used as an aphrodisiac for centuries!
lemon+black pepper=memory & concentration
frankencense+geranium=happiness & peace
peppermint +wild orange=invigorated
How To Make Body Spray
Small Spray Bottle
1 C Distilled Water
1 1/2 T Vodka or Witch Hazel
7 Drops Various Essential Oils or fragrance oils
Put the water and the vodka into the spray bottle and shake. The vodka will help the essential oils to disperse evenly and not settle at the bottom.
Add your choice of Essential Oils or fragrance oils and shake gently.
Shake before each use!
How To Make Spray Body Glitter
I know, a girl needs a little sparkle once in awhile! It's a quick and easy addition and makes great homemade gift ideas!
Using the above recipe, simply add 1/2 of a teaspoon mica powder or fine body glitter. Shake before each use to suspend the glitter and the essential oils. Body glitter can be found at any beauty supply store and you can buy fragrance oils at any hobby store. Do double check that they are skin-safe.
