Well, I've spent the weekend learning about the health benefits of honey and the necessity of natural, local honey vs the stuff you buy at a chain store. Actually, I consulted a good friend of mine that is a beekeeper in Ohio. She spent some time sharing some of her vast knowledge!
The health benefits of honey are staggering...honey contains powerful antioxidants with antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It has powerful anti-bacterial properties on at least sixty species of bacteria. Unlike antibiotics, which are often useless against certain types of bacteria, it's full of polyphenois, an antioxidant that can help to protect cells from free radical damage.
Honey also protects against cancer and promotes a healthy heart! <3
I love to copycat restaurant recipes! I am NOT the world's best cook! In fact, I could live on bean burritos and instant mashed potatoes if my sweet husband would let me! But once in awhile I get a crazy urge and want to try something new. And I love trying copycat recipes! Just the satisfaction of making something that tastes...wonderful!
So, here are a few of my tried and true favorites. I've found some of them from various parts of the internet or pinterest. And some I've had in my recipe book for years so I don't know who to credit for them. But, I will credit them where I am able..and thanks to those wonderful creative cooks that come up with these great ideas!
