Homemade Fabric Softener
Now, I love fresh smelling laundry. But the more I've used homemade household cleaners and gotten away from the chemical smells and fake scents, the more I love the benefits of various essential oils recipes.
Adding various essential oils will not only add a fresh, natural scent, but also add various essential oil properties including antiseptic and antibacterial. This is a healthy way to use green cleaning in your household.
You'll just need three basic ingredients for your homemade household cleaners.
These three items work with your homemade laundry soap recipe to disinfect your clothes and leave them feeling green & clean!
The directions are so easy that you'll wish you'd done this for years!
Add water and baking soda to a large container and stir to mix. Slowly add the vinegar. (if you're like me and slept during Science Class-just trust me to add the vinegar slowly)....Trust me!
Since I wasn't an astute science student, I am still surprised at the fizzy, chemical reaction between vinegar and baking soda! Ha!
But I stirred slowly and constantly until the baking soda dissolved.
And then I added 8 drops of melaleuca essential oils and poured it into an extra vinegar bottle.
I am not a huge dryer sheet fan. I think they smell fake and plastic-y. They're another disposable product that we use once and throw away and the good ones aren't cheap! Also, there is evidence that toxic chemicals can be found in commercial dryer sheets. As I embarked on my homemade cleaning solutions, I decided to make some utilizing the above fabric softener recipes & some of my favorite essential oils recipes.
