How To Make Dog Treats

Learning how to make dog treats is not a project that I take lightly!

This is Poppy------->

She is the pickiest eater that I know! She will sniff her food for a few minutes before she decides to eat it. When the postman gives her a treat, she waits until he puts it on the ground so she can sniff it and make sure it's worthy of her dogginess.

So, imagine my excitement when I discovered how to make these treats that are healthy and taste good.

Yes, I tested them-part of the job!

Cinnamon Apple Bones

These homemade dog treats are delicious and nutritious! With a few easy ingredients, you can mix up a great snack for your puppy. They also make wonderful easy homemade gift ideas!

Homemade dog treats

You Will Need:

1 large apple
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup oatmeal 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

peanut butter

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  • Chop up the apple pieces pretty fine. (You can use applesauce if you like)
  • Combine all of the ingredients except the flour.
  • Gradually add the flour until your dough is stiff enough to roll out.
  • I used this cute, little bone cookie cutter but you can just drop in circles and flatten.
  • Bake for 30 minutes and then lightly spread peanut butter over them, if desired. <Poppy desired the peanut butter!>
  • Cook an additional 30 minutes and let cool. The peanut butter will harden making a nice, tasty frosting.

Taste them! They're not too bad!
